About Selling or Getting Your Collection Evaluated

Whether You Are Selling, Need A Full Appraisal Or A Market Analysis, We Offer Services To Help

All of these services are strictly by appointment.

We recieve contacts from all over the US just about everyday from collectors or their relatives seeking these services. Here is how we deal with each type of request.

"I've got some stamps I want to sell."

Most of the time, when we recieve a call or email of this kind, the Seller does not know how much they want. Quite often they do not have a clue as to the value of the stamps. There is not much we can do to satisfy a Seller who has no way of quoting us a price. Before we set an appointment, we ask several questions that will help us know if the collection has any real value. This qualifies the collection for the Seller in 2 ways.

First, we both need to know if it the material is something we are interested in buying. If we looked at every baggie of loose stamps or small beginner collection were are offered, we would not have time for anything else! So if a Seller wants us to look at a collection we don't want, there are fees for the service. We try to help you avoid such fees if we are not interested in what you have.

Secondly, we help you decide if the fees for market analysis are likely to be justified based on what you have. Many collections seem to have "old stamps" but old does not make it valuable or scarce! We use our decades of experience to help you decide what is best for you.

"I want to know what my stamps are worth"

Most people who contact us about this do not need a full blown appraisal.  They usually want an idea of their market value and perhaps whether we would be interested in what they have. With the exception of appraisals for estate purposes or relating to other legal proceedings, you may want to seek the less time consuming "market analysis". This is not a written appraisal but a sit down meeting with our staff to go through what you have in your presence. We will then be able to increase your knowledge about what you have. If we do not want to buy what you have or can not pay you what you want then fees apply for our time spent.

"I need an appraisal for estate purposes" (or other legal proceedings)

This type of service requires documentation and is quoted on a case by case basis.
