Terms and Conditions 

We urge all buyers to read this page to avoid any confusion and delay in processing your order . What follows is a general list of our Terms and Conditions of Sale, including information about payment methods we accept.

ABOUT PLACING AN ORDER:

ORDER DIRECTLY FROM www.huntstamps.com : This is the easiest way to order and by far the quickest way. Plus It takes just moments! For those who may need help in using our site we provide the follwing information about registering and completing a website order.

CREATE AN ACCOUNT: You may create an Account before shopping if you are not a returning customer by clicking the "Account" button at the top of the screen. Alternately, once you are ready to order your first item, you can click on the blue "Add To Cart" button and create your Account then. Be sure to include your EMail when you register to allow our system to communicate with you about your order. Also, please check off the areas you collect at the bottom of the Account Registration Form. This allows us to give you a first and equal chance at new arrivals and specials related to your interests and contact you about them on occasion.

You will then be prompted to Log In to your account using your own Username and Password.

ORDERING: Once you are logged in to your account, simply click the blue "Add To Cart" button on each item you are ordering. Notice that your Shopping Cart contents appear in the left side of your screen after you order an item. When you are ready, proceed to checkout and finalize your order. You will be sent email notifications about your order.

ALTERNATE ORDERING METHODS: As an alternative you can print out the blank order form, complete same, call or fax us or send it by mail though using the direct ordering method on our Website described above is preferrable. We have SSL Security software added to our site. Your information is fully encrypted before it leaves your computer. We ask that you try the Website ordering before you use an alternative.

For these alternate ordering methods, please ensure when ordering any item that you include your address and, if possible, your email address so that we can fullfill your order and quote on special shipping costs for you if need be. When we receive orders with a name but no address it makes the transaction time much longer than it needs to be.

Payment Methods

Acceptable forms of Payment are: Credit or Debit Card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express). We do not charge any surcharge for credit card use. We actually prefer credit card payments for quick and convenient transactions for both parties. We will charge all amounts in US Dollars. Remember that Foreign Currency exchange rates will be calculated by your credit card issuer who may charge you additional fees for this service.

You may also pay by Personal Check in US Dollar funds, US Money Orders (no overseas Money Orders, please), US Currency (if sent by registered mail and STRICTLY at your risk) or by wire transfer to our bank if arranged with us in advance. Orders will be held for clearance of Personal Checks.

ALL items remain the property of Hunt & Co. until paid in full. Any fees arising out of our attempts to collect a payment that is not paid within these terms of sale or is returned or denied by a bank or credit card issuer will be added to the balance due. Any returned or declined payment is subject to an additional administrative fee of $25 (USD).

All shipments to Texas addresses or picked up in person at our showroom are subject to 8.25% Sales Tax.

Currency Conversion

For your use and convenience, we have placed a free currency conversion link here and on our Home Page at the left side. Check out the price of an item in your local currency. Please note rates quoted may not be the same as those charged. Currencies fluctuate every second and this may affect your transaction, as well as the final rate your bank may charge.

We prefer that you pay for your International order by credit card. When paying by credit card, we bill you in US dollars (USD) for only the total amount of the items we are shipping (plus postage and handling). The exchange rate and any related transaction fees your bank charges you for will be calculated by your credit card company and not us. The fees, if any, are typically added to your credit card by your bank as a separate transaction.

Please Note: Shipments CAN come in all shapes and sizes. The rates below are provided as a guideline for a typical size and weight If your shipment is larger and/or heavier and/or thicker than allowed under these ratess, we will increase the shipping charge to reflect our cost for your shipment and attempt to notify you. Thank you very much for your understanding.

Our Private Insurance is included (Except on INT'L Mail At RISK which is not insurable). USA shipments valued over $5000 USD and Int'l shipments valued over $2000 USD will be quoted on a case by case basis . Values given are a starting point as noted.

INT'L Mail 1- Valued up to $400 USD / These shipments are sent by US Registered Mail but ONLY to countries that accept Registered Mail. Due to US Postal Regulations this service is NOT available for higher valued shipments.

INT'L Mail 2 - Valued over $400 USD up to $2000 USD / For shipments to countries that do NOT accept Registered Mail and/or for shipments valued over $400 USD. It is Sent by US Express Mail International, but only to countries that accept Express Mail International.

INT'L Mail AT RISK - Valued up to $200 USD / While this shipping method is a lower priced alternative, YOU ARE ASSUMING 100% OF THE RISK FOR NON-DELIVERY FOR ANY REASON. Also tends to be slower.

Returns and Expertisation

100% customer satisfaction is our goal. We want your long term repeat business. Every effort is made to accurately describe each item. If you require further details or a scan please do not hesitate to ask. Collections and mixed lots are obviously not returnable for any reason as is common with most all auctions and other sellers worldwide.

If you are not happy with an items we supply you, please follow the following policies:

Unless it is an item in the NOT RETURNABLE list below, please ship it back to us by Mail in the exact condition it was received in and in the original card or holder for each item within 7 days of receipt. Be sure to provide adequate protection. An envelope with loose stamps all over the place is likely to have damaged items when we recieve it. Please include an explanation of the problem, and we will fully refund your purchase price of those goods, or hold the amount as a credit if you prefer.

*The following types of items are NOT RETURNABLE:

  • A lot expressed to be a "range", "group", "selection", "array", "collection"," accumulation", "box lot" or similar, that contains more than 10 items - excepting sets of stamps longer than 10 stamps- is always offered ""as is"" and cannot be returned. Similarly, other lots offered "as is" cannot be returned.
  • Items pictured in our online auction catalog for reasons of centering, perforation faults or other visible details. Buyers are responsible for viewing the online pictures.
  • Lots not in precisely the condition as when shipped by us and also in/with their original card or holder with all original labeling
If the Buyer wishes to have an item expertised, the following policies apply:
  • The Buyer must inform us of his/her intent to submit the item by email or phone at the time that the order is placed. ALL requests must reach us before the item is shipped. We would appreciate the chance to discuss your concerns in advance, so please provide good daytime contact information.
  • The item in question must be fully paid for in advance of Buyer's submission to the expertising firm.
  • Submission to the expertising firm by the Buyer must occur within 10 days of receipt of the item. Buyer must forward a copy of the submission form to us by mail or email at the time of submission. We consider all extensions granted for expertising to be closed and final after 90 days from the date we ship the item whether the expertiser has returned a certificate or not.
  • The expertisers acceptable to us are PSE (US Stamps), PSAG (US and Canada Stamps), PF (US Stamps) and APS (non US only). Any others must be agreed to in writing by us.
  • Hunt & Co. reserves the right to deny requests for expertising if the item has a certificate dated within 5 years. No item may be returned due to any numerical or other particular grading rank assigned by an expertiser. Failure of the expertiser to render an opinion is not grounds for return or reimbursement of expertising fees.
  • If the certificate reveals a difference in the condition of the item in question from our description, the item and the certificate may be returned to us and we will issue a full refund for the price paid for the item and we will reimburse the expertising fees up to the lesser of $100 or the price paid for the item.

Responsibility

We are NOT responsible for

Goods opened or damaged or removed or otherwise dealt with by customs or postal authorities in the country of receipt or in transit.

Any taxes or charges levied by governments or authorities, such as GST, VAT, fines, levies, penalties, demurrage etc.

Foreign Government Seizure Rule (Applies to ALL International Shipments): In the event that an International Shipment or any part of an International Shipment is seized by the Customs Department or other government authority of the Country of the Recipient's address we have NO Liability and NO Refund will be given. All orders shipped to you are at your own risk for such seizure. All duties or other fees applicable to any shipment are the responsibility of the Recipient.

Any fees or charges levied by your bank or credit card company or differences to the exchange rate from the rate quoted on www.xe.com at the time of the sale. For credit card payments we bill you in US dollars (USD) for only the total amount of the items we are shipping (plus postage and handling). The exchange rate and any related transaction fees your bank charges you for will be calculated by your credit card company and not us. The fees, if any, are typically added to your credit card by your bank as a separate transaction and are totally out of our hands.

All claims in respect to any loss or damage or non-delivery shall be the responsibility of the purchaser, unless involvement is required by the sender from the postal administration/s. We keep a record of all mail sendings (including copies of the stamped USPS receipts or other records and shall be happy to provide a copy if requested). It is further understood that lodging such claims within the statutory time limit applied by the postal authorities shall also be the responsibility of the purchaser if the senders involvement is required.

All orders placed with us shall be deemed as accepting and agreeing to these, and all and any other Terms and Conditions Of Sale found on this website or available on request by mail or fax.   -Thank You
